Developmental Editing Group
24 September - 3 December 2025, 6-8pm BST/UTC
We will meet every Wednesday evening for ten weeks to share our writing drafts, get collaborative feedback, and discuss academic writing at structural and linguistic levels.
Every week, three people will submit a sample of their work for the group to discuss. Kirsty will offer private feedback on the text. By the end of the semester, you should have workshopped a chapter or article into something ready for submission!
Workshopping is commonly used in creative writing, but we find it works equally well in academic contexts - often this kind of editorial feedback is missing from supervision. Together we will break down the writing process and discuss language, structure and style in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This is an excellent alternative to a 1:1 editing service - you will not only get the feedback you are looking for on one piece of writing but also learn skills that you can apply to others.
Max. 8 people, meeting weekly on Google Meet.
